Africa Heart Retreats – The Brainchild of Dr James Liddell
It all started with a dream in May 2017 about Sir Lourens Van der Post who was born in Philippolis and lead to us visiting Philippolis in June 2017.
Philippolis was established in the heart of South Africa where the heart chakra lies of South Africa. It is in an area where there are strong ley lines and that led to the unfolding of various historical events.
Philippolis was the birthplace of world renown Sir Lourens van der Post (1906 – 1996). He was a humanitarian, educator, philosopher and conservationist. He was so passionate about the Bushmen that he considered them the lost souls of mankind and contributed to the preservation of their heritage. Van der Post stipulated in his will that his ashes must be buried in Philippolis where he was born and loved so much. The Sir Lourens van der Post Memorial Garden in Philippolis was constructed to honour his passion for the town and Bushmen.
The heart love energy of Van der Posts legacy became part of the collective heart energy that is settled in the soil of the town and area.
A missionary station was built in Philippolis for the local Griqua people who were destitute in 1822. The town was named after Dr John Philip, who oversaw the missionary from 1819 to 1849. Adam Kok II, the Griqua leader, settled here with his people in 1826 and became the protector of the mission station. The heart love energy of Dr John Philip and Adam Kok became part of the collective heart energy that is settled in the soil of the town and area.
Emily Hobhouse began her weaving school in Philippolis to empower women after the Anglo Boer War. The Emily Hobhouse remembrance garden is honoured to this day for her contribution empowering women. The heart love energy of her legacy became part of the collective heart energy that is settled in the soil of the town and area.
There are many others who walk the path of love and compassion in Philippolis and the surrounding area that became part of the collective heart energy.
The heart chakra of South Africa harbours unconditional love and oneness and that is the energy that we utilise for our transformational retreats to make a better world for all.
Dr James`s dream is to create a Healing and Spiritual Global Capital in the heart chakra of South Africa, and that is how the dream was born.
